Liubko Deresh (1984) is a prose writer and holds a degree in economics. He debuted when he was 18 with the novel “Cult”. His other books: “Adoration of the Lizard” (2002), “Arche” (2005), “Intention!” (2006), “A Little Darkness” (2007), “Jacob’s Head” (2011), “The Last Love of Asura Maharaja” (2013), “The Peacemaker” (2013), “Songs about Love and Eternity” (2014), “Devastation” (2017). His works were translated into German, Polish, Italian, and Serbian.
The finalists have been chosen by Polish-Ukrainian jury (Katarzyna Węzowska, Bohdan Zadura, Vitalii Sych, Yevheniy Stasinevych and Hanna Uliura) among 22 writers nominated by Ukrainian and foreign cultural institutions, publishing houses and readers.
The name of the laureate will be announced on 15th of November in Kyiv. Apart from 3000 euros from Polish Institute in Kyiv, the laureate also receives the scholarship of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of Poland "GAUDE POLONIA” from the Partner of the Award, the National Center of Culture in Warsaw.
